Life is not easy for everyone, which especially true of my grandmother. Grandfather passed away at an early age, leaving her a daughter who is my mother. She was in deep sorrow. She didn’t want to stay at her mother’s home when the Spring Festival was approaching. That was because the Chinese had a custom that married daughters couldn’t stay at their parents’ on the New Year Eve. To her disappointment, she was going to her own home, daughter on back, on a snowy morning， when she crossed the mountain which was between her home and her parents’, she met a hungry mother wolf with a baby sucking her breast. She closed her eyes, waiting for the wolf to eat both herself and her child. After a while, what surprised her was that the mother wolf left with its baby, leaving them where they were. As soon as she opened her eyes again, she realized that going home meant starving to death. Going back to her parents’ could have a chance to survive. Having seen the hungry mother wolf feeding its baby with empty breast, but leaving her and her child a survival life, she turned back to her parents’, regardless of any tradition. It was the mother wolf that gave her confidence in living a powerful life.Since then,she determined that she must live and send her daughter to school.
Grandmother lived to 91 years old and mother was a retired teacher.

这是一个真实的故事，是一位优秀的班主任讲述自己外婆的故事，我用英文记录了这个动人的故事。并且编成语法填空题，在课堂上让学生做题后感悟一下这个外婆由对生存的绝望到狼妈妈对她们母女的同情和怜悯再到低三下四地返回娘家，直到后来供应了女儿上了商洛师范，当了科班出身的老师。外婆的经历是在中华民国末期，中华人民共和国解放前期。
